France, The Regency of Marie de Medici, 1611, a uniface cast bronze medal by G. Dupré, the youthful Louis XIII as a naked Apollo, his mother as Minerva, both clasping a thunderbolt, 50mm (Jones 33-4); Maria Magdalena of Austria, 1613, an electrotype copy of Dupré’s medal, her bust left in ornate dress and high lace ruff, 89mm (cf. Jones 44; Kress 562) [2]. Very fine or better, first with integral suspension loop (£120-150)
