University College, London, 1865, a silver award medal for Architecture by J.S. and A.B. Wyon, bust of Thomas Leverton Donaldson right, rev. inscription within wreath, edge engraved (L. Martineau), 57mm (BHM 2832); Female School of Art, Bloomsbury, 1856, a silver award medal after W. Wyon, coronetted bust of Queen Victoria facing left, rev. inscription within wreath, edge engraved (Florence H. Shindler, stage 14a, 1886), 53mm; The Institution of Civil Engineers, 1897, a silver award medal by A. Wyon, bust of James Forrest three-quarters right, rev. view of the Institution, edge engraved (John Armour Wotherspoon Stud. Inst. Session 1908-1909), 57mm [3]. Extremely fine; all in cases, first very rare, second sold with details of the award (£150-180)

The Female School of Art medals were presented by Princess Christian in 1886. Miss Florence Shindler was additionally awarded a special prize of £10 by the Committee for the excellence of her competition work for the Gilchrist scholarship for which she achieved the same number of marks, the highest possible, as the successful candidate to whom the prize went at the second trial
