James II (1685-1691), Gunmoney coinage, Crowns (3), 1690, early horseman (2), legend commences to left of King’s head, sword points to centre of x of rex, cruciform shields slightly tapering at centre (cf. S 6577; cf. DF 373); later horseman, thinner figure of the King wearing different armour and riding a more spirited horse, rev. cruciform shields with straighter sides (S 6578; DF 373) [3].
