Edward III (1327-1377), Pre-Treaty period, Groat, series B/D mule, mm. cross 1 (filled on rev.), obv. open es, reverse-barred Roman ns, rev. normal r, closed es broken at top, reverse-barred Roman ns, annulet stops, 4.44g/1h (Doubleday 397, same obv. die; N 1142/1152; S 1563/1566). Reverse slightly off centre, nearly very fine, excessively rare (£400-500)

The Doubleday specimen (Glendining Auction, 7-8 June 1972, lot 397 and SNC December 1989, 6749), which is from a different rev. die, was previously thought to be the only recorded example
