Bateman, legend, rev. engraved (Qui Sequitur rem laborios’e Obteret omnes Difficultates), hallmarked London 1817, 50mm, 13.69g (Grimshaw p.18, 40; D & W 227/193, this piece). Very fine and very rare; decorative border [obliterating first initial of the maker’s mark] and loop for suspension £120-150
