Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (1922 Sergt. Chas. McMullin, 100th Regt.) edge bruising, polished, therefore good fine £60-80

Provenance: D. R. H. Jones Collection of Victorian Long Service Medals, Dix Noonan Webb, September 2001.

Charles McMullin was born in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. He attested for the Grenadier Guards on 20 September 1855, having previously served for 4 years and 12 days with the Royal Irish Constabulary. He was entered 3 times in Regimental Defaulter’s Book and twice tried by District Court Martial, once ‘drunk in Warley’. Promoted Sergeant and appointed Colour Sergeant in the 100th Foot in November 1867, he served for five years in Canada, before transferring to the Royal Berkshire Militia on 22 March 1882.
This is his sole medal entitlement.
