Alexander Hugh Cameron McIntyre initially served in the ranks of the Corps, and was present as ‘11386 Lance Corporal, 7th Company’ at Kambula and Ulundi (entitled to South Africa 1877-79, with ‘1879’ clasp). He was commissioned, and served with the 43rd Company on St. Helena during the Second Boer War. He was discharged in April 1901, after 22 years service.
