The Royal Cumberland Militia Officer’s Helmet Plate 1878-81, a fine and rare example in silver plate, the crowned eight pointed star back plate with laurel overlays and circle ‘Royal Cumberland Militia’, in the centre on a ground of black patent leather a Garter star Proper, the central cross of red vitreous enamel, two loop fasteners present out of three, slight plating loss to one or two star points and the patent leather backing crazed otherwise very fine condition
