Corps of Royal Engineers Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1902-14, of standard 1878 pattern and complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate features the Royal Arms and the double motto ‘Ubique’ ‘Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt’, complete with leather sweat band and retailer’s label ‘G.E.Carrington, Old Brompton, Kent’, the plate not original to the helmet, slight moth damage on the wearer’s right hand side, the gilt rubbed and dull overall; together with a metal carrying tin with white painted details ‘A.A.Chase, Royal Engineers’ and retailer’s plaque ‘J.Haslett, Woolwich’, the tin with some soldered repairs around the carrying handle (2) £200-300
