The Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding) Regiment Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1881-1901, a very fine example of standard format complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate with central silver Wellesley crest and title scroll below ‘The West Riding Regiment’, buff leather sweat band and attached cotton lining and retailer’s label ‘Hobson & Sons, Little Windmill St., London’; together with an associated tin also by Hobsons, this with brass named plaque ‘Quarter Master W. Harvey, 2/6th West York Infty Militia’, the helmet in very fine condition overall, the tin with some surface rust and a small hole near the carrying handle otherwise good condition (2) £400-500
