R.E.); together with a Brancepeth Nos. 1 & 2 Sunny Brow Miners Welcome Home Medallion, gold (9ct., 13.7g, hallmarks for Birmingham 1920), the reverse engraved ‘Presented to A. E. Arthur Edward Robinson served with the Signal Company, Royal Engineers during the Great War on the Western Front from 17 April 1915, and subsequently transferred to the Labour Corps. He was discharged on 14 March 1919. In civilian life he was employed at the Brancepeth Sunny Brow Pit, Co. Durham.
