1st Fifeshire Rifle Volunteers Officer’s Green Cloth Helmet c. 1878-83, an extremely fine example, the rounded peak skull complete with all silver plated fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel overlays enclosing a title strap ‘1st Fifeshire Rifle Volunteers’, in the centre on a ground of dark green velvet ‘The Thane of Fife’, the plate is original to the helmet, buff leather sweatband with ivory silk lining retailed by ‘Hobson & Sons, London’, very fine overall condition £800-900
