Waterloo 1815 (Hugh Perrey, 3rd Batt. Grenad. Guards.) fitted with original steel clip and rectangular bar suspension, light marks overall, otherwise a pleasing very fine £1800-2200

Hugh Perry/Perrey was born in the Parish of Hamloch, Anglesey, and enlisted at Longford, Ireland, into the 3rd Foot Guards on 3 April 1813, aged 23 years, for ‘limited’ service, a volunteer from the Royal Caernarvon Militia. He served in Lieutenant-Colonel Miller’s company at Waterloo and was discharged on 11 November 1818, in consequence ‘of a wound thro’ both thighs received at Waterloo on the 18th June 1815, and two slight wounds, on the leg and back.’ He was admitted to out-pension on 24 June 1821, and died on 7 April 1864.
