Alexander Cameron was born in the Parish of Kingussie, near Inverness, and enlisted for the 92nd Foot at Aberdeen on 15 March 1804, aged 27, for unlimited service. He was discharged to Kilmainham Hospital on 2 June 1818, in consequence of length of service and ‘that he has been twice wounded, once at Bayonne on the 13th December 1813 and latterly at Quatre Bras on the 16th June 1815, the former wound slight and the latter severe.’ He died at Kingussie on 2 June 1854, aged 76. Sold with copied discharge papers and other research.
