1939-45 Star; Burma Star; War Medal 1939-45, mounted for wear, with Soldier’s Release Book Class “A”, Soldier’s Service and Pay Book, letter of Discharge from H.M. Forces, dated 4 May 1953, correspondence to recipient’s widow with regards to claiming for his campaign medals, dated between September 1991 - May 1992, medals late issues, nearly extremely fine

M.I.D. London Gazette 19 September 1946:

‘in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Burma.’

Rowland John Ward was born in February 1920, and enlisted in the Wiltshire Regiment in May 1940. The 1st Battalion Wiltshire Regiment formed part of the 26th Indian Division and operated as part of the 4th Indian Infantry Brigade. They were involved in the heavy fighting on the Arakan front.

Alfred James Toller was born in September 1909, and enlisted for the Royal Artillery at Exeter in February 1941. He served during the Second War with the 136th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, in the Arakan Campaign of 1943, and the Burma Campaign of 1944-45. He transferred to the Army Reserve, before his eventual discharge in May 1953. He resided at 1 St. Michael’s Crescent, Priorswood, Taunton, Somerset.

M.I.D. London Gazette 19 September 1946:

D. Seeley-Jones served during the Second War as a Temporary Major with the Royal Engineers in Burma.
