Albert Hodkin was born in 1895, and enlisted in the 1/1st Derbyshire Yeomanry, in June 1915. He served during the Great War with the Regiment in the Egyptian theatre of war from 12 September 1915. Having advanced to Acting Corporal, Hodkin was transferred to the Army Reserve, 15 May 1919.

Sold with the following related items and documents: Derbyshire Yeomanry lapel badge, gilt and enamel; copy Shoulder Title; Certificate of Transfer to Reserve; two portrait photographs of recipient, one of which is in uniform; Soldier’s Pay Book and a leather wallet which is embossed ‘A Souvenir of Athens 1918.’
