Sold together with the recipient’s Honourable Discharge Certificate and a portrait photograph.
Henry Ernest Ward died at home on 13 December 1918, and is buried in York Cemetery, Yorkshire.
Patrick James Mitchell was born at Blairgowrie, Perthshire, and served during the Great War with 83rd Field Company, Royal Engineers. He died of wounds on the Western Front on 17 August 1917, and is buried in Dozinghem Military Cemetery, Belgium.
