Arthur Palmer was born and enlisted at Bridgend. He landed at Gallipoli with the 5th Battalion, South Wales Borderers, on 19 July 1915, and was killed in action at Suvla Bay on 7 August 1915. He is commemorated by name on the Helles Memorial.
