Herbert Tyson was born in Salford, Lancashire, and attested for the Lancashire Fusiliers. He served with the 1st/7th Battalion during the Great War in Gallipoli, died of wounds on 22 December 1915, and is buried in Lancashire Landing Cemetery, Turkey.

William Davies served with the 16th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers during the Great War on the Western Front from 23 November 1915; was promoted Lance-Corporal, and transferred to Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 19 January 1919.
