Alexander Marshall Henderson served with the Scottish Horse during the Great War in the Balkan theatre of War from 1 September 1915, and was commissioned into the King’s Own Scottish Borderers on 18 December 1916.

Donald Waddell was born in Kippen, Stirling, and attested for the King’s Own Scottish Borderers at Kirkcaldy, Fife. He served with the 6th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 12 May 1915, and was killed in action on 25 September 1915, on the first day of the Battle of Loos. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, France.

Thomas McKay was born in Paisley, Renfrewshire, and attested there for the King’s Own Scottish Borderers. He served with the 7th/8th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front and was killed in action at Flers Courcellette on 15 September 1916, during the Somme Campaign, on which date the battalion was involved in the attack and capture of Martinpuich. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
