James Davenport was born in Collyhurst, Lancashire, and attested for the Lancashire Fusiliers at Salford, Lancashire. He served with the 16th Battalion during the Great War, was promoted to Lance-Corporal, and was killed in action on the Western Front on 6 June 1918. He is buried in Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, France.

Gilbert Tennant was born in Buckden, Yorkshire, and attested for the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry at Leeds. Transferring to the Lancashire Fusiliers, he served with the 10th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, was taken prisoner of war, and died in captivity on 1 November 1918. He is buried in Hamburg Cemetery, Germany.
