Military General Service 1793-1814, 3 clasps, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Toulouse (Henry Miller, 14th Light Dragoons.) traces of solder by claw but not re-affixed; 14th Light Dragoons Merit Medal, obverse inscribed ‘14 L D’ within wreath; reverse inscribed ‘For Soldierly Merit’, edge engraved ‘Henry Miller, 14th. Lt. Dragoons.’, edge bruising, good very fine and scarce (2) £1200-1500

Henry Miller was born at Spitalfields, London, and attested for the 14th Light Dragoons at London on 7 July 1809. He served in Captain T. W. Brotherton’s Troop, 14th Light Dragoons ‘in the several general engagements and skirmishes with the Regiment in the Peninsula, from September 1809, until the Battle of Toulouse in April 1814, and subsequently for seven months in America, and was also at the Battle of Waterloo.’ (recipient’s service papers refer). He was discharged on 28 March 1832, after 24 years and 268 days’ service.
