Thomas Beckwith, tallowchandler, wife’s name Anne (†1720); Samuel Cox, clothier, constable; John Digby (†1687), grocer, also owned land and property in Little Totham and Great Totham; Thomas Guyon, clothier, “the best dyer of cloth in England” (Judson p.49), lived at Sloe House, Halstead, father †1664 worth £100,000; William Guyon, surveyor of the highways, 1669-70, witnessed Will of Francis Lay 1678; John Lark (†1689), wife’s name Mary; Francis Lay (†1679), innholder, the Swan, constable in 1671; Moses Love (†1689), slaymaker and innholder, the Kings Head, Stoneham street, also owned the Kings Arms, East street, clerk of Coggeshall market, wife’s name Margaret; Robert Purchase, grocer; Benjamin Samson, clothier, alive 1671; Ambrose Sutton (†15 May 1683, aged 63), clothier, signed the petition of the clothiers of Coggeshall to the Council of State, 3 November 1652, later petty constable
