45th (Nottinghamshire) Regiment At Orthes 1814 a Water Colour drawing by R. Simkin, the 34 x 22 cms picture shows a mounted Field Officer of the 45th leading a charge upon fleeing French Infantry, the Colours of the regiment are also in evidence, only one French Non-Commissioned Officer is making a stand against the onslaught, with ink inscription in block capitals on the lower left of the picture ‘R.Simkin’, now contained in a glazed wooden frame, very good condition £300-400
