Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Officer’s Foreign Service Helmet Plate c. 1881-90, an extremely fine and rare example, the back plate of crowned thistle star pattern overlaid with thistle sprays, in the centre a circle ‘Argyll & Sutherland’, mounted on the circle in silver the coronet reversed Ls of Princess Louise, the Boar’s Head and the Cat this on a ground of scarlet leather (?), three loop fasteners, very fine condition £700-900
