Northumberland Fusiliers 1st Volunteer Battalion Officer’s Grey Cloth Helmet, a good quality example complete with all silver plated fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black velvet St. George slaying the dragon with a motto above ‘Quo fata vocant’, double title scroll below ‘The Northumberland Fusiliers 1st Volunteer Battalion’, the green canvas peak linings distressed, the original sweat band lacking and the later replacement now detached, the plate is original to the helmet, very good external condition £500-700
