1st (The Royal) Regiment of Foot Regimental Medal of Merit c. 1884, circular format 4 cms in bronze, the obverse with the badge of the regiment in relief and title below ‘The Royal Scots’, the obverse with laurel sprays and engraved ‘Capt. C.H. Sanford’, complete with original case of issue but now contained in a glazed frame, very good condition £40-60

Note: Charles Henry Sanford was commissioned 11th February 1862 becoming Paymaster 19th May 1879 and appointed Honorary Major 9th May 1884.
