Richard Westgarth Fairlamb was born in 1944 and attested for the Royal Armoured Corps at Newcastle-upon-Tyne on 26 February 1962. He served with the 4th Royal Tank Regiment in Aden from 16 September 1963, and with the Far Eastern Land Forces in Borneo from 27 August 1964 until 24 June 1966. He was discharged on 13 December 1966, after 4 years and 291 days’ service.

Sold together with the recipient’s Regular Army Certificate of Service booklet; Army Certificate of Education Third Class Certificate; 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards Certificate for the most efficient recruit; and the recipient’s related miniature award.
