Edward Brown, the son of Alexander and Mary Brown, and the brother of May Frances Brown, was born in Dublin and served with the 9th Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action at the battle of the Somme on 9 September 1916, on which date the battalion was in action at Ginchy, and suffered 209 casualties. He is buried in Serre Road Cemetery, France.

May Frances Brown, the daughter of Alexander and Mary Brown, and the sister of Edward Brown, was born in Dublin and served during the Great War with Queen Mary’s Army Auxiliary Corps. She died on 17 November 1918, and is buried in Aldershot Military Cemetery, Hampshire.
