Harry Todd was born in Heathwaite, Lancashire, in 1876. He attested for the 2nd Life Guards at Lancaster, in June 1898. He served with the Regiment in South Africa, December 1899 - November 1900, and was discharged, 3 April 1911, having served 12 years and 295 days with the Colours.
