William George Miller was born in October 1878, in Birkenhead, Cheshire, and enlisted in the Imperial Yeomanry in March 1901 in Ruabon. He served with the 89th (Montgomeryshire) Company, Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa during the Boer War until he was discharged medically unfit on 9 November 1901. He died in 1954.
