Waterloo 1815 (John Reed, 1st Batt. 40th reg. Foot.) fitted with replacement silver clip and ring suspension, edge bruising and contact marks, therefore good fine £1400-1600

John Reed was born in the Parish of Dalton, Shipton Mallett, Somersetshire, and enlisted into the 40th Foot on 5 November 1813. He was discharged at York on 26 November 1816, in consequence of ‘Loss of left eye from Gun Shot wound received on the 18 June 1815 at Waterloo.’ Sold with copied discharge papers.
