A French Second War ‘Posthumous’ Medaille Militarire group of three attributed to M. Debosschère, French Resistance

Marcel Debosschère was born at Wattrelos on 23 June 1921, and served with the Resistance during the Second World War. He was arrested by the Gestapo on 27 November 1943 and deported to Germany, and was last seen alive on 13 March 1945. For his services during the Second World War he was awarded a posthumous Medaille Militaire, 2nd Class, the citation stating ‘for magnificent patriotism.’

Sold together with the Bestowal Document for the Medaille Militaire, dated 2 April 1959; Army Ministry enclosure, dated 27 May 1959, and a newspaper cutting relating to the award.
