Francis Benedict Parnell was born in Wangford, Southwold, Suffolk.

Dennis Harry Smith was born in Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, in 1913. He served with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, and was promoted Warrant Officer Class 1 in October 1952. He died in Reading, in 1979.
