Cecil Leonard Page was the son of Arthur Page, of 126 Desborough Road, High Wycombe. He served during the Great War with the 1/1st (Bucks) Battalion, Oxford & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry on the Western Front. He was killed in action 28 August 1916, and on the latter date the Battalion were engaged on the Somme as part of the 145th Brigade, 48th (South Midland) Division, ‘Moved to trenches between Thiepval and Ovillers (23/8) and attacked at 3pm. Casualties - 112. To Usna Hill via Aveluy (25/8) and Bouzincourt (28/8).’ (British Battalions on the Somme, by R. Westlake refers).
