Michael White was born in Marylebone, London, and served during the Great War on the Western Front with the 4th Battalion Middlesex Regiment as a Drummer from 23 October 1914. He was killed in action on 30 September 1917 at Passchendaele and, having no known grave, is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
