Fred Cartwright, of Stamford, Lincolnshire, served with the 3rd Hussars during the Great War on the Western Front from 22 August 1914 and at some time transferred to the 7th Hussars with service number 45730. He latterly served with 657 Home Service Employment Company and was discharged to Class ‘Z’ Army Reserve on 23 June 1919.
