Henry Herbert Jeffries was born in Bermondsey, London, and attested for the Northumberland Fusiliers at Stratford, London. He served with the 1st Battalion on the North West Frontier of India, and during the Great War on the Western Front, and died on 8 November 1914. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
