Nightingale. L.N. Lanc: Regt.); Mayor of Kimberley’s Star 1899-1900, reverse hallmark with date letter ‘a’, complete with brooch bar, minor edge bruising, very fine (3) £400-440

Benjamin Nightingale was born in Lancaster, and attested for the 3rd Battalion North Lancashire Regiment in October 1893. He served with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment during the Second Boer War, February 1899 - September 1902. Nightingale was discharged 11 September 1906, having served 12 years with the Colours.
