James Weston was born in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, and had four sons, three of which were: Harry Edward Weston, Kenneth Spencer Weston and William James Pillinger Weston, all of whom were born in Mill Street, High Wycombe.

K. S. Weston served during the Great War with the West Kent Yeomanry from February 1916. He was discharged, entitled to a Silver War Badge, 6 June 1918.

W. J. Weston served during the Great War with the South Wales Borderers from September 1915 (entitled to a pair). He was discharged, entitled to a Silver War Badge, 3 January 1919.
