R.H.S. Case No. 18,494. Saved George Denby from an attempted suicide off the Admiralty Pier, Dover, 9 April 1870. William Pearman, Coast Guard, Dover, jumped from Admiralty Pier and supported him until a boat arrived.

William Pearman
was born at Brockhurst, Gosport, Hampshire, and joined the Royal Navy aboard H.M.S. Princess Royal on 15 November 1853. He served in this ship in the Baltic and in the Crimea, but was lent for service in the Tender Moslem during the Azoff operations. Sold with copies of relevant medal rolls.
