William Frank Page, C.M.G. (1894-1980), was educated at Clifton College. Served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, South Wales Borderers in both Gallipoli and France, wounded twice and taken prisoner of war on 11 April 1918 and repatriated 25 December 1918. Post-war, Page settled for a time in Southern Rhodesia before joining the Colonial Administration Service in Tanganyika. He retired in 1947 and returned to England where he lived at Bridgwater, Somerset, later moving to Guernsey where he died in February 1980. Page’s Great War medal index card confirms that his campaign medals were issued to him in July 1938.
