British Empire Medal, (Civil) G.VI.R., 1st issue (John Waugh); together with two Northumberland Miners Welfare Medals, 25mm, silver (hallmarks for Birmingham 1947) and enamel, the reverses inscribed, ‘Bowls League Winners 1948’ and ‘Bowls League Aged Miners’ Homes Cup 1948’ respectively, B.E.M. with slight edge bruising, good very fine and better (3) £160-200

John Waugh was employed as a miner at the Dudley Colliery, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Sold together with the original Buckingham Palace forwarding slip, named to ‘John Waugh Esq. B.E.M. 25th July, 1947’.
