A scarce campaign combination Crimea D.C.M. group of four awarded to Sergeant H. Prompby, Rifle Brigade

Distinguished Conduct Medal, V.R. (Corpl. Henry Prompby. 1st. Bn. Rifle Bde.); South Africa 1834-53 (H. Prompby. 1st. Bn. Rifle Bde.); Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (Serjt. H. Prompby. 1st. Batn. Rifle Bde.) officially impressed naming; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, unnamed, pierced as issued, top lugs removed from third, minor edge bruising, therefore generally very fine (4) £2000-2400

D.C.M. recommendation dated 19 January 1855.

Henry Prompby attested for the Rifle Brigade in July 1848, and served with the 1st Battalion during the Third Kaffir 1850-1853. He advanced to Sergeant and served with the Battalion during the Crimean War. Prompby purchased his own discharge for £15, 6 March 1857.
