Charles Alfred Abbott was born at 1A Nile Street, Abercromby, Liverpool, in November 1917. He served during the Second War as a Corporal and Metal Rigger with the Royal Air Force. He advanced to Warrant Officer in November 1957, and was subsequently commissioned as an Engineer into the Technical Branch. He was promoted Flight Lieutenant in July 1964, and retired in August 1967. In later life Abbott was employed as a Quality Control Engineer, and he died at The Cottage Hospital, North Walsham, Norfolk in November 1990.
