1914-15 Star (3) (Ressdr. Sher Khan, Corps of Guides Cavy.; No. 2823 Sowar Ganda Singh, 6/Cavy.; No. 5563 Havr. Dilbar Shah, 1/Bn. Guides Infy.); British War Medal 1914-20 (2) (3076 Dfdr. Annoo Khan, 34 Horse; Jemdr. Abdul Samad. 36 Horse.), first with large area of silver testing after naming, and both with minor test file marks; Victory Medal 1914-19 (2) (K-Dfdr. Taj Mohammad, 2-Lcrs.; 3758 Sowar Dost Mohd. 6 Cavy.) generally nearly very fine (7) £80-120

Ganda Singh served during the Great War with King Edward’s Own Cavalry, and was awarded the Indian Meritorious Service Medal for France, one of 46 awarded to the Regiment during the Great War.

Annoo Khan served during the Great War with Prince Albert Victor’s Own Poona Horse, and was awarded both the Indian Distinguished Service Medal (Army of India Order 461 of 1919) and the Indian Meritorious Service Medal for service in Egypt, one of 29 and 43 awarded to the Regiment respectively during the Great War, and one of only 6 I.D.S.M.s awarded to the Regiment for Egypt.

Abdul Samad served during the Great War with Jacob’s Horse, and was killed in action on the Western Front on 25 March 1917, and is commemorated on the Neuve-Chapelle Memorial, France.

Taj Mohammad served during the Great War with Gardner’s Horse, and was awarded the Indian Meritorious Service Medal for Egypt, one of 51 awarded to the Regiment during the Great War. He was also given a grant of land.

Dost Mohammed served during the Great War with King Edward’s Own Cavalry.
