Queen’s Westminster Rifle Volunteers Officer’s Full Dress Grey and Scarlet Head Dress c. 1903-08, a very fine example of ‘folding busby pattern’, the grey cloth body and crown piped around the top with scarlet, sewn in buff coloured cap lines, to the front a similar coloured boss with an Imperially crowned bugle horn in silver plate, below this on a background of red cloth a silver plated badge featuring the crown, the honour ‘South Africa 1900-02’ and the unit title ‘Queen’s Westminster Rifle Volunteers’, in the centre a coronet over a portcullis, original leather sweat band and dark silk lining (perished), chin strap missing but complete with buff coloured cap lines and full dress horse hair plume, white over red, and red and white corded plume holder, very fine condition £300-400
