Zhob Levy Corps, a very rare pair of silver collar badges, hallmarked Birmingham 1902, two screw post fittings to reverse, very fine condition (2) £100-150

The Zhob Levy Corps was raised in 1890 and later became the Zhob Militia. It was an irregular force, 1,200 strong, officered by 5 British officers of the Indian Army, temporarily lent for the purpose. Consisting of four squadrons of cavalry and six companies of infantry, half the Corps was composed of Pathans from the North-West Frontier Province, while the other half was composed of Baluchistan men, but none of these latter were local Zhob tribesmen.
