60th The King’s Royal Rifle Corps & The King’s Royal Rifle Corps Officers’ Helmet Plates 1878-81 & 1881-91, the first in die stamped blackened silver plate with burnished highlights and of crowned Bath style star, between the crown and the cross a scroll ‘Peninsula’, the arms of the cross emblazoned with battle honours, a central circle ‘The King’s Royal Rifle Corps’ enclosing a strung bugle horn with ‘60’ within the strings, on the bottom arm of the cross a scroll ‘Celer Et Audax’, complete with three loop fasteners; the second of crowned cross pattee style in blackened silver plate with burnished highlights, between the crown and the cross a plinth ‘Celer Et Audax’, the arms of the cross emblazoned with battle honours, a central circle ‘The King’s Royal Rifle Corps’ enclosing a strung bugle horn, complete with three loop fasteners, very good condition (2) £300-400
