Inspector of Army Schools Officer’s Helmet Plate c. 1902-10, a very rare example, the crowned gilt eight pointed star back plate with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of blue velvet (worn) a silver EVIIR cypher, complete with three lug fasteners, slight distortion to the orb on the crown otherwise very good condition £200-260

Note: The blue velvet backing replaced the earlier blue enamel backing c. 1902.

The Helmet Plate is that of an Inspector of Army Schools, as the Army Educational Corps was not formed until 1920.
